The awfully ruthless weather conditions that thrash the highest Himalayan peaks edge the climbing season to just a few weeks in every year. Spring is the most admired season on the heights of Everest when hundreds of mountaineers try to climb it every year. The climbers usually reach the mountains in March or April, adjust to the higher altitude and low oxygen and prepare for climbing the snowy track to the peak. The weather usually became favorable for a few days in May when they line up to the peak.
Chhurim Nepalese mountaineer who entered her name in the Guinnes Book Of World Record by climbing Everest twice in the same season. According to the Guinness world record she is the very first woman in the history who climbed Everest, the world’s highest mountain, twice in the same season.
Tourism Minister of Nepal handed over the certificate of Guinness World Record to 29 years old Chhurim on Monday. She scaled this 8,850 meter peak on 12 May 2012, rest in base camp for a few days and then again scaled Everest a week later on 19 May. She stated that it was very difficult to climb Everest second time, but when I reach to the peak all gone well. She also added that she was very happy because she accomplished the dream of her life, and she will continue the mountaineering and have hoped to climb up more peaks.
Chhurim told there are not enough women mountaineer in the world and only a few of them made records. She said that there are many male mountaineers who have records but women are far apart from them. Women are considered weak as compared to men and they face many problems during climbing, like finding toilets.
Everest has been climbed by nearly about 4,000 people but women are very small in number said the Nepal Mountaineering Association.
