Hats off to Pakistan Telecommunications Company Limited (PTCL) for announcing an amazing and entertaining Smart TV service for EVO broadband customers. It is an efficient solution for every one because we do not carry TV all the time with us in offices, universities and during our leisure trips outside the city. On the other hand we also do not want to miss our favorite TV programs. Small screen and short distance is not a big deal because most of us spend the greater part of their time in front of laptop screens for studies or official work. Now everyone having a EVO broadband stick can enjoy Live TV channels on their desktops, laptops and mobile phones at a very reasonable price.
At present Smart TV application offers twelve Live TV channels in various categories like sports, news, entertainment, cooking, films, dramas and information. These include ARY Digital, ARY News, ARY Zauq Cartoon Network, CNN, Geo Entertainment, Geo News ,HBO, Hum TV ,National Geographic, PTV Home, Ten Sports and Smart Products (PTCL Promotional Channel). On January PTCL also introduced Smart TV IPTV.
This Smart TV application also has the “Re-Run” option, with the help this feature we can re-play any past program from last seven days . Another remarkable functionality DVR- Digital video recording. Now we can record Live TV programs on hard disks, or even record the “Re-Run” programs with a single click. With the passage of time, PTCL has enhanced its service a lot. Streaming is smooth and Quality is superlative. Streaming runs on standard definition with 512 k bits per second.
Availability of PTCL Smart TV Application:
PTCL Smart TV Application it is currently available to EVO customers only. All EVO customers can sign-up by dialing 1236 to avail PTCL Smart TV Application. Username and password for this application will be sent out to customers via email upon subscription.
PTCL Smart TV Application Monthly Charges:
The service monthly subscription charges are Rs 50/ Month.
Channels:
At present only twelve channels are available and more channels will be added soon.
PTCL Smart TV Application seems to be a pleasant service for all. It is therefore hoped that this service will be offered to landline broadband customers as well at the same monthly charges.
WOW… We had no television in our hostel but since I downloaded this app on my laptop, I , with all my friends, use to watch the TV regularly and now we wont have to beg our warden to bring a TV for us in hostel. Thank you PTCL

I am using PTCL EVO Wingle 9.3, but I am having speed issue during voice chat then how could the small device will play the tv channels having high bit rate. In Islamabad I am receiving 3 out of 5 signals then how could PTCL ensure signals in other cities. I am afraid that playing TV will effect the other internet surfing through the device.
I am in Islamabad and using this Application, it has never interrupted me and broadband speed is also flawless.You should contact PTCL helpline for further help regarding to this issue.
